Avoidant Attachment – Cord-Cutting for the Fear of Intimacy, Vulnerability and Emotional Closeness (PDF)

€7,00

You long for love, but when someone comes too close you feel the need to withdraw?

Perhaps you want a relationship, but the moment it becomes serious you begin to feel trapped, suffocated or uncomfortable.

Perhaps you find it hard to say what you feel.

Perhaps you prefer to solve everything on your own.

Perhaps when a conflict appears you shut down, withdraw, stop responding or feel you need to leave.

Perhaps unavailable people attract you, but when someone is present, constant and available for you, your interest begins to fade.

Perhaps you learned very early that it is safer not to need anyone.

“Avoidant Attachment” is a material of cord-cutting and personal work created to identify and work on the deep programmes that make you protect yourself from closeness, love, vulnerability and intimacy.

🖤 “I don't need anyone.”

Behind extreme independence there may sometimes be a much older story:

“If I need someone, I can be hurt.”

“If I attach, I will suffer.”

“If I open up, I become vulnerable.”

“If I depend on someone, I lose control.”

“It is safer to manage on my own.”

And so you begin to build distance exactly where, deep down, there may be a need for connection.

🔥 What will you work on in this book?

The material goes deep into the programmes associated with avoidant attachment and the relationship with emotional closeness.

We will work on themes such as:

– the fear of intimacy
– the fear of vulnerability
– the difficulty of receiving love
– the difficulty of asking for help
– the exaggerated need for independence
– emotional withdrawal
– avoiding difficult conversations
– emotional shutting down during conflicts
– fleeing when the relationship becomes too close
– the feeling that the relationship suffocates you
– the permanent need for space
– the difficulty of expressing your needs
– the difficulty of saying “I love you” or “I need you”
– the fear of emotional dependency
– distrust of others
– the fear of being controlled
– the fear of losing your freedom in a relationship
– the tendency to minimise your own emotions
– disconnecting from what you feel
– the attraction to emotionally unavailable people
– losing interest when someone becomes available
– searching for the other person's flaws when the relationship becomes serious
– sabotaging closeness
– leaving before you can be abandoned

🧊 When closeness begins to seem dangerous

Avoidant attachment does not necessarily mean you do not want love.

You can long deeply for a relationship and, at the same time, have powerful protection mechanisms against it.

When someone is far away, you can long for them.

When they come close, something in you begins to withdraw.

When you cannot have them, you idealise them.

When they become available, you begin to see all their flaws.

When the relationship becomes deep, the need for space appears.

The book helps you identify these mechanisms and the programmes that may stand behind them.

👧 The roots in childhood

We will also descend towards the programmes formed in early relationships:

– “My emotions are disturbing.”
– “I must not cry.”
– “I must be strong.”
– “I must manage on my own.”
– “No one comes to help me.”
– “I cannot count on others.”
– “If I need love, I am weak.”
– “I must not show what I feel.”
– “Closeness hurts.”
– “The people I love are not available for me.”

We will work on the relationship with mother, father, emotional abandonment, rejection, the lack of emotional availability and the situations in which the child learned to suppress their own needs in order to protect themselves.

💔 “I leave before you can hurt me.”

One of the important themes is preventive rejection.

Instead of risking rejection, you reject first.

Instead of being abandoned, you leave.

Instead of saying you need someone, you convince yourself you do not.

Instead of risking vulnerability, you build distance.

Instead of staying in a difficult conversation, you shut down.

Thus, the mechanism that once protected you can end up sabotaging your adult relationships.

🔄 The anxious–avoidant dynamic

The book also addresses one of the most frequent relational dynamics:

one pursues, the other flees.

The more the anxious person asks for closeness, the more strongly the avoidant person may feel the need for distance.

The more the avoidant withdraws, the more the anxious one tries to restore the bond.

And thus a circle can be created:

closeness → fear → withdrawal → pursuit → even more withdrawal.

The purpose of the work is not to find the “culprit”, but to identify our own mechanisms and our own wounds.

🪞 Hyper-independence

“I don't need anyone.”

“I'll do it.”

“I don't want to depend on anyone.”

“I ask for nothing.”

“I manage on my own.”

Hyper-independence can become armour.

We will work on the programmes that confuse healthy autonomy with the inability to receive, to ask, to need and to allow another person to be there for you.

🖤 Deep Cord-Cutting

The material is built in the style of Adevăr și Lecuire, with cord-cuttings applied to every micro-theme.

For example:

I dissolve all the programmes that make me believe that emotional closeness is dangerous. I alchemise them into the safety of building closeness while keeping my identity and my boundaries at the same time.

I dissolve all the programmes that make me flee when someone begins to love me deeply. I alchemise them into the capacity to receive love without feeling that I must disappear, shut down or protect myself from it.

I dissolve all the programmes that make me believe that I must always manage on my own. I alchemise them into the capacity to be autonomous and, at the same time, to ask for, receive and accept support.

I dissolve all the programmes that make me reject before I can be rejected. I alchemise them into inner safety, discernment and the capacity to remain present in a relationship without permanently anticipating abandonment.

✨ From protection to connection

The goal is not for you to become dependent on someone.

And not to give up your independence either.

The goal is for you to be able to have both autonomy and connection.

To be able to say:

“I need you” without feeling that you have become weak.

To be able to receive.

To be able to stay.

To be able to communicate.

To be able to be vulnerable without losing yourself.

To be able to love without feeling that love takes away your freedom.

To be able to have space without needing to destroy the connection.

🎯 Who is this book for?

For you if:

– you withdraw when someone comes too close
– you find it hard to express what you feel
– you need a great deal of independence
– you find it hard to ask for or receive help
– conflicts make you shut down
– you feel suffocated easily in relationships
– you quickly find reasons why a relationship “does not work”
– unavailable people attract you
– you lose interest when someone becomes too available
– you have difficulty trusting
– you feel you must permanently control how close someone can come
– you were hurt and decided you would never need anyone again
– you long for love, but notice you reject it when you receive it

🤍 Love does not have to mean the loss of freedom

You can remain yourself.

You can have boundaries.

You can have space.

You can be independent.

And, at the same time, you can allow another person to come close to you.
